The children staying in Sheffield Children’s Hospital were treated to a workshop named ‘Wish You Were Here’ in August.
They met our artist Em and were given the opportunity to combine textiles, thread, beads, paper and ribbon to create some amazing textile postcards. There were boxes and boxes of different items to chose and cut to size and the children enjoyed the tactile element of the activity.
They were encouraged to think of a place were they had happy memories, or spent something special to them.
After being given a fabric base to base to start with, the children wasted no time planning and producing amazing postcards. The support staff and parents commented on the care the children took in creating the art work.
