Mark’s Fundraising Adventure

13 Feb, 2016 3 Peaks Challenge

Can Mark survive the 3 Peaks for the second time?

Cancer has affected my life in more ways than one, first with the loss of my nephew, Daniel and more recently the loss of my partner Katie. The last few years have been difficult and any help I can give to the charity makes my life worthwhile.
My first challenge for the Daniel Barnett Arts Foundation was in 2014 when, my friend, Mark Heald and I embarked on the 3 Peaks Challenge Sponsored Event with a local fitness group based at Clifton Park. Most of us had never done the challenge before and were excited to take part as a team raising money for Diane’s charity. I had done no training for the 26 mile walk and wondered what on earth I had got myself into. The route was hard but I managed to complete the challenge in 11 hours 20 minutes, just under the 12 hours. It was a remarkable achievement and one that I will never forget.
This year on Saturday 14th May I am revisiting the challenge to beat my personal best. This time it will be in memory of Katie, my partner, who died last year. Katie supported me with the charity so it would be a fitting tribute to both her and Daniel. I have been a great supporter of the Daniel Barnett Arts Foundation since it began as a community group and seen it grow into the charity that it is today. I have raised money through sponsored events like losing weight challenge where I lost 3 stones to supporting the annual cake day and generally looking for opportunities where people can make a donation.
Please help me raise money by donating on just giving;

Thank you

The team at Daniel Barnett Arts Foundation would like to say a big thank you to Mark for his commitment to the charity and support he has offered to Diane and the family. We wish him the best of luck for his personal best this year!
