“All Aboard The Polar Express!” Leeds LGI Children’s Ward

“All Aboard The Polar Express!”

Creativity and Christmas charm were brought to the Children’s Ward at Leeds LGI during December 2018.

With imagination, talent, and time anything is possible.

The Children’s Ward had an informal competition for the best decorated doors. The aim was to transform doors to brighten the Ward up and add some festive cheer for all the

patients.

Our incredibly talented artist Emma designed the layout inspired by the 2004 movie “The Polar Express”.

Santa Claus: “Just remember, the true spirit of Christmas lies in your heart.” (The Polar Express, 2004)

Emma sketched out her design, the finished picture was then painted by the Teenage Cancer Unit at Leeds.

With imagination, talent, and time anything is possible.

Working together as a team they got creative and had fun adding colour to Emma’s design. It was an enjoyable process and exciting to watch the transformation take place.

DBAF Trustees are extremely proud of all the hard work from both Emma and the Teenage Cancer Unit participants. We think the end result is amazing and the judges agreed because we are pleased to announce “The Polar Express” doors won first place in the Competition!

Conductor: “One thing about trains: It doesn’t matter where they’re goin. What matters is deciding to get on.” (The Polar Express, 2004)

The Winning Doors!

Designed by our talented artist Emma and painted by the Teenage Cancer Unit.

Well done to everyone involved!
